There are no Council or committee meetings scheduled for this week because of summer break. Council is set to get back to work next week.

With temperatures set to climb again this week, if you and your loved ones are finding it unbearable, why not make your way down to one of the City's Beat the Heat pop-up spray parks.
- With COVID restrictions repealed, whether you're looking for another way to beat the heat or a way to work up a sweat, the City's recreation facilities and pools are now reopened as well.
Last Week In Red Deer:
- Telus has announced that Red Deer's mobile internet speeds will get a little faster, as they plan to invest $9 million in new wireless infrastructure. The investment is welcome news and means Red Deerians can expect to enjoy 5G wireless speeds in the near future.
- The City has committed to extend the bike lanes through the intersections at 39th Street and Douglas Avenue, and nearby 39th Street and Davison Drive.
- Have you seen the new bright orange or yellow e-scooters in downtown Red Deer? Well, if not, expect to see one on a sidewalk and pathway near you soon, now that the program has officially started.
